The Root of Beer [co-written by KAMNA]

The Root of Beer [co-written by KAMNA]
The bear and the boar
Danced all night 'round the fire
And the result was the birth of beer
The boar said, this is not my child liar!
The boar was sliced into two, the pain he could not bear
And all this while, Red Indians came along, and carried away the beer!

And then in the woods, the troubled bear
Went searching for the beer
But instead he found a seer
Who was only adorned in a loin cloth sheer
The seer conjured magic gear
His holiness realised on seeing the bear
The exact reason of his coming there

Meanwhile, the Indians lay at leisure at their lair
Inebriated, they played with each others' lice in their hair
The seer apparated from nowhere
Yelping, the Indians got such a scare
For the bear came too, and jumped towards all his beer

The Indians were overwhelmed with fear
But all the bear did was stand and jeer
With one skilled leap, he landed in the Indians jeep
And in a frenzy he tried to steer
His enclosure though was far from near
The Indians that followed with their spears
Invoked fear in the bear

Fleeing, the bear for victory was sure
But somehow one Indian did a spear bore
The seer, flying, whispered a spell and the wound did cure
More spells were yelled, the Indians gone, all but remained four
Beer in hand of the bear, for many years was this lore retold

Grisaille Strokes

Blotches and Smudges
of murky brown
Old revenge and grudges
bogging her down
Her skirt's in gathers
as is her frown
Like an old Flower
she has wilt
Probably remorse
and justified guilt
Deep wounds engraved upon a stone
that was a person
flesh and bone
Peace and reasoning
all's gone
between love and reasoning
she's torn
Pristine white flowers she's adorned
over her grave they lay forlorn

Demented Poppy Seeds

Demented poppy seeds that fly westwards; buoyant
keep flying in that direction at complete peace with themselves.
They seldom encounter an empty Thought
and spin and swivel within the Thought
full of futile hope
Then minuscule hearts plunged in sympathy
they promise to bring forth
after a complete circumnavigation of the Universe
some food for Thought

Yes? No.

Wet sand gathered in outstretched fists
slips through clenched fingers
Sands of time pass us by
rendering palms bare
and suddenly
wondrously full of ourselves
-Nothing can be clung to, up to eternity;
 except just that; nothing

Brilliant Venom

I took the tunnel at the end of which the light was;
The much spoken of, tunnel de light,
But on moving further
into the void,
the light didn't seem as bright.
Then a searing in my brain and heart
that traversed soon to every part,
split me into two
And soon, half of me flew overhead ;
the other southwards flew.
And then you came;
blinding light behind you, keeping you obscured
And decisively; my limp left side; into the void, you lured.
What brings you here; nastiness;
I thought you'd seek revenge
Why then, do you seem to have
changed your mind
Do you no longer dream to avenge
how bitter your heart's begotten?
Then suddenly I realize you hold
only half of me;
the other half whizzes past, forgotten
And that reveals the murkiness of the veiled niceness
Nastiness remains undeterred
Foolish to ever think otherwise
now no more I'll be intact,
eternally I'm severed.

(The after-read is funny, i agree)

Blink

Feet in murky waters
When will they splash clear water-
as clear as the sky is now
and reflect the trueness of my being
When the soil underneath is parched
and feet get numb with newfound cold
I needn't look elsewhere for clarity;
but within.
